about

Pre-Iraq, I was worried about the situation. I didn't really believe that 'weapons of mass destruction' were sincerely thought to be present. This proved true, but at this point I was just hoping wiser heads would prevail. And now kids are being born with their organs outside of the body, and extra heads and limbs...
I stumbled on this rubber chicken in my alley just as the CD art was going to press. I couldn't believe it.

Little Red, White, ‘n’ Blue Rooster

©Murray Munn 2001

Have you seen that little red rooster?
He’s been clucking over town
Have you seen that little red rooster?
He’s been clucking, all over town
He’s been crowing at the peacock, baby
And I swear the peacock’s gonna put him down.

He’s been scratching with his yellow claws
Have you seen that little red rooster?
He’s been scratching with his yellow claws
Lord he don’t know his puny size
But his beak’s both wide and long.

That little red rooster…
He’s looking far he’s looking wide.
That little red rooster…
He’s looking far he’s looking wide.
Can’t get enough Texas tea,
And he wants what’s on the other side.

Goes cock-a-doodle-doo, boys!
Look at me, I’m over here;
Goes cock-a-doodle-doo, girls!
Look at me, I’m way over here
Get layin’ on the eggs my hens,
Cuz we’re gonna need more fighting men.

Murray Munn Whitehorse, Yukon

Murray dabbles in the Irish bouzouki, but his main instrument is the guitar. Although the demo available on Bandcamp is in the blues genre, Murray considers himself more a singer-songwriter in the fingerstyle folkie genre. Music of "Irish revival" (Planxty, Bothy Band) and of the UK are major influences and interests. Bruce Cockburn and Bert Jansch are much admired. ... more
