Murray dabbles in the Irish bouzouki, but his main instrument is the guitar. Although the demo available on Bandcamp is in the blues genre, Murray considers himself more a singer-songwriter in the fingerstyle folkie genre. Music of "Irish revival" (Planxty, Bothy Band) and of the UK are major influences and interests. Bruce Cockburn and Bert Jansch are much admired.
